South Pender has shaped my life.
My name is Ben McConchie and I am seeking your support to serve as your South Pender Island Trustee.
My family's connection to these islands goes back to the 1920s, when the Kirk family homesteaded on Armadale Road. My parents bought property on Canal Road in the 1970s, and I was fortunate to have my childhood shaped by this island.
Today I live on South Pender and work as an educator at Pender Islands School. I previously served as North Pender Island Trustee from 2018 - 2022, and I am bringing that experience home to South Pender.

Long before I ever thought about local government, South Pender was simply home.
I grew up exploring its beaches, forests and shorelines. Those experiences gave me an appreciation for what makes this island extraordinary - and for what can be lost if we don't take care of it.
